Why gravel below the foundation?

Because on the mountain the ground is soil. By placing gravel as the foundation base, it better ensures that the house does not sway and sink into the ground due to the weight that the house will have after it is built. Ensures as well that the house structure, floors and walls don´t crack so easily.

Pillars can be build too as a house foundation base.

Wood or concrete...? 

What sway more and its noisy with weather conditions, earthquakes and crazy people living in the house?

Walls themselves, strait and "strong" and thermic and sound insulation.

This make no sense. 

Why not an wood beam instead all these wood boards? How many wood boards are here? And all the work and the cost of it?

Brick walls. 

There are different sizes and those interior walls built with these bricks would be good. 

Blocks on the exterior walls and bricks on the interior walls. With some wood beams, why not?

All this could have been built with iron and cemente / concrete, and cemente blocks.

The wood beams posts could be placed in the same place during or after the structure and the walls be built.

The little wood metal roofs, noisy ones when it rains, could be as they are on the image, even building the house with the materials mentioned above.
