Flashback means quickly returning to something, but has other meanings, depends on where it is employed. In this case, flashback is a fact happened in the past inserted in a current moment, through the remembrance of people, or in a book or movie. It's an English word that means retrospect, narration of previous facts.
Flashback is also a term widely used in cinema, is the interruption of a narrative chronological sequence by interpolation of previously occurred events, it is a form of change of temporal plane. It is a feature widely used in various film genres, usually seen in police films and drama. Also known as analepse, flashback is a narrative technique where the action of the film is momentarily interrupted to show an action or situation of the past, related to what occurs in the narrative present.
